GOTS Certified
First of all, needless to say you want to get GOTS certified baby pajamas. GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. Having one common standard means textile processors and manufacturers can export their fabrics and garments with one organic certification that is accepted in all major markets.
Fabrics Compared
If you're looking for the best fabric for baby pajamas, you can't go wrong with pima cotton. This premium cotton is buttery soft and features a smooth, billowy texture that's perfect for snuggling. Pima cotton is also highly breathable, making it ideal for warm summer nights. However, if you're looking for a fabric that's even softer, brushed cotton is a good option. This fabric has a luxurious, velvety feel that's sure to please even the most discerning baby. Brushed cotton is also exceptionally durable, so it's ideal for everyday wear. Finally, bamboo is another excellent choice for baby pajamas. This natural fiber is exceptionally gentle on delicate skin, extremely soft to the touch, and it's also hypoallergenic and antibacterial.

Why Pima Cotton is our Favorite
Many baby pajamas we've tried look great the first time you put them on baby. But only pima cotton pajamas will continue to look like new wash after wash, because they will not wrinkle at all and they completely resist pilling.
I was disappointed to see all my baby's premium bamboo buttery soft outfits pill heavily after the first wash. Every-single-one of them, no matter what brand. This is typical of bamboo and probably I should have run a delicate cycle and let it air dry. The same problem with pilling happens with brushed cotton pajamas although to a lesser extent.
Pima cotton doesn't really stretch, so make sure to size up when purchasing something for your baby.
