Luna + Luca (Luna and Luca) Baby Clothes Review: Knit Jumpsuits, Bring Me Home Bundles, Beanies and Sizing
Last updated: October 2026
The short answer: Luna + Luca (the brand most parents search as "Luna and Luca") is worth buying for three things: the $52 organic cotton knit jumpsuits, the Bring Me Home coming-home bundles at $81 to $141, and the $27 to $28 pom beanies that turn any outfit into the photo. Nearly everything is sized Newborn through 18-24 months, prices run $12 to $141 with the typical piece around $44, and most listings state 100% organic cotton. The honest catch: almost every knit is lay-flat-to-dry, the fuzzy teddy pieces are polyester rather than cotton, and the bundles stop at 0-3 months.
This review walks the line piece by piece (jumpsuits, rompers, Bring Me Home bundles, beanies and headbands, booties and blankets, matching sets), then reads the sizing straight from the size options on each listing, the fabric and care exactly as the brand states them, the honest complaints, and who should shop elsewhere. If you are comparing several labels first, start with our guide to the best baby clothing brands and come back here for the Luna + Luca specifics.
Buy it for: the Classic Chunky, Purl and Cable Knit Jumpsuits ($52), the embroidered Busy Bee and Ladybug rompers ($44), a Bring Me Home bundle as the newborn gift ($81 to $141), the Pom Beanie ($27 to $28) and the Little Bear booties ($28).
Skip it for: anything you need to tumble dry, a coming-home outfit you want to wear past three months (bundles stop at 0-3m), and the Cozy Teddy pieces if you were shopping for cotton.
Sizing: standard age bands (Newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m, 18-24m) with no garment measurements published, so size up at the top of a band.
Luna + Luca knit jumpsuits: the $52 piece the brand is known for
The knit jumpsuit is the signature Luna + Luca piece: a one-piece sweater-knit romper with long sleeves and legs, a front button placket or zipper, and hidden snaps along the inseam so a diaper change never means undressing a sleeping baby. The three classics, Classic Chunky Knit, Classic Purl Knit and Classic Cable Knit, are all $52, all listed as 100% organic cotton, and all cut with ribbing at the neck, cuffs and leg openings so the knit stretches over a chunky thigh without digging in.
Which one to pick comes down to texture. The Chunky Knit is the plushest and photographs with the most depth; the Purl Knit is the finest stitch and the dressiest; the Cable Knit in Natural is the heirloom-looking one that reads as hand-knit in a newborn photo. All three come in the core palette (Powder Blue, Heather Beige, Natural, White, Cream), and the jumpsuit line runs Newborn through 18-24 months, though a given color will not always carry every size.
The character jumpsuits are where Luna + Luca gets playful. The Baby Bear Jumpsuit in Acorn ($52) is a cable knit with a front zipper and a hood with bear ears; the Midnight Sky Jacquard Jumpsuit ($52) knits moons and stars into black organic cotton with pearly buttons; the Little Deer Jumpsuit ($54) adds a speckled fawn hood with a polyester lining and a front zipper. For a rule of thumb: buttons for the photo, zipper for the 3 a.m. change.
There is also a lighter bamboo footie line (the "Bee Free" Bamboo Jumpsuit, $38, listed as 95% bamboo and 5% spandex) with a two-way zipper, fold-over cuffs, and grip footies through 3-6 months. It is the one Luna + Luca jumpsuit that works as pajamas in a warm nursery.
Luna + Luca rompers: embroidered, smocked and bubble
Where the jumpsuits are winter pieces, the rompers are the warm-weather half of the line: sleeveless or short-sleeved one-pieces in a lightweight organic cotton knit, priced $42 to $46. The two to start with are the embroidered pair: the Busy Bee Romper ($44), an airy knit with tiny embroidered bees, and the Ladybug Organic Romper ($44), a pointelle-striped shortie with ladybugs stitched down the front. Both run Newborn through 12-18 months.
The Floral Frills Romper ($44) is the girls' pick: a pink floral jacquard with ruffles at the shoulders and legs, and the widest size run in the romper line at Newborn through 18-24 months. The Sunshine Embroidery Romper ($44) uses wide straps and bottom buttons, which matters more than it sounds: a bubble romper with buttons at the crotch changes in the stroller, and one without does not.
One romper is not cotton: the Cozy Bunny Romper ($42) is a fuzzy blend listed as 49% recycled polyester, 30% nylon, 11% polyester, 8% sheep wool and 2% spandex, with a snap-on cotton bunny tail. It is the softest thing in the line and the one to avoid if you are buying specifically for organic cotton.
Bring Me Home bundles: the coming-home outfit
The Bring Me Home line is the brand's coming-home outfit and the piece to put on a registry. Each bundle is a coordinated newborn set in one knit, sized Newborn and 0-3m only, so the baby wears it for the first photo, the car ride home and the first weeks of visitors. The Rib Bundle in Light Sage ($141) is the full five pieces: a kimono-style wrap top, pants, pom beanie, booties and a baby blanket. The Ruffle Bundle in Light Plum ($139.20) is the girls' version with a bow headband and pom booties, shipped untied so you can adjust the bow.
If $141 is more than you want to spend on an outfit worn for three months, the three-piece Pointelle Set ($81) covers the top, pants and bonnet without the blanket and booties, and the Chunky Knit Bundle in Cream ($100.50) adds a tie bonnet and booties in the heavier knit. The Scallop Bundle in White ($135) is the one in our hero photo: wrap top, shorts, scallop-trimmed bonnet, booties and blanket, closed with a wood button.
Two practical notes before you add one to a registry. First, the kimono wrap top is genuinely easier on a newborn than a pullover: nothing goes over the head and the ties sit away from the umbilical stump. Second, choose 0-3m unless your doctor is expecting a small baby; there is no 3-6m in most bundles, so a bigger newborn will outgrow the Newborn size in weeks.
Pom beanies, bonnets and bow headbands
The Pom Beanie ($27 to $28) is the easiest add-on gift in the line: a ribbed organic cotton beanie with an oversized fluffy pom, in Heather Beige, Powder Blue, Denim Blue, Natural, Cream and White, sized 0-3m and 3-12m. The colors are dyed to match the jumpsuits, which is why the two are so often photographed together. Note that the Powder Blue beanie is listed as pre-order at the time of writing.
For a bear theme, the Little Bear Baby Beanie ($28, 0-6m) is a ribbed cotton beanie with an embroidered bear patch that matches the Little Bear jumpsuit and booties, and the Baby Bear Bonnet ($38, 0-3m) is the tie-under-the-chin version with ears. Bonnets stay on a newborn; beanies do not, so for a baby under three months the bonnet is the better buy even though it costs more.
The Classic Bow Headband ($14, 0-12m) is a soft knit bow in organic cotton, offered in Powder Pink, Cream, White, Heather Beige and Denim Blue, and the Knit Bow Headband in Off-white is $12. Because they are knit rather than elastic, they do not leave a line on a newborn's forehead, which is the usual complaint with stretch headbands.
Booties and knit baby blankets
Luna + Luca booties are knit socks with a ribbed ankle rather than a sole, which is exactly right for a baby who is not walking: they stay on better than a hard-soled shoe and wash with the rest of the knits. The Organic Booties ($26, 0-3m and 3-6m) are the plain pair that matches every jumpsuit; the Little Bear Baby Booties in Acorn ($28) add bear ears; the Giddy Up Booties ($32) carry a two-tone horse motif for a western theme.
The splurge is the Cashmere Luxxe Booties at $69, listed as cashmere and hand wash only. They are lovely and they are also the only item in the line that cannot go in a washing machine, so they are a gift for a parent who will treat them as a keepsake rather than daily wear.
The blankets are the piece most worth a second look. Both the Classic Cable Knit Baby Blanket in Natural ($54) and the Busy Bee Gingham Baby Blanket ($56) measure 32 by 40 inches in 100% organic cotton, which is stroller and play-mat size rather than crib size. The listings themselves carry the warning that matters here: knit blankets are for supervised use and never go in the crib or sleep space with the baby.
If you are deciding between knit and muslin for a first blanket, our guide to the best baby blankets compares weights and sizes across brands; the Luna + Luca cable knit is the one to choose when the blanket is also the photo backdrop.
Matching sets and mix-and-match knits
Beyond the newborn bundles, the sets split into two kinds. The bodysuit-and-pant sets, like the Midnight Moons Bodysuit + Pant Set and the Stardust Moons version ($58 each, Newborn through 18-24m), are a long-sleeve snap-bottom bodysuit with matching elastic-waist pants in 98% organic cotton and 2% spandex: the stretch makes them the easiest Luna + Luca pieces to get onto a wriggling eight-month-old.
The second kind is the separates you can build a set from. The Chunky Knit Striped Sweater ($42) and the Knit Striped Pants in Cream and Denim Blue ($36) are cut to be worn together, and the Baby Rib Leggings ($36) go under any jumpsuit or romper on a cold day. If you are building a toddler's winter wardrobe from knits, our roundup of the best kids' sweaters and layers sets out how many pieces you actually need.
For warm weather, the Summer Tank Set ($66, 18-24m) is a waffle-knit tank, bloomers and a tie hat, and the Braided Tank + Bloomers Set ($58) covers Newborn to 12-18m. The Cozy Teddy Kid's Set ($58, 2-3Y to 5-6Y) is the one set that reaches older siblings, a fuzzy sweatshirt and pants that are 100% polyester and, unlike the rest of the line, tumble dry low.

How does Luna + Luca sizing run?
Luna + Luca sizes by age band, not by measurement. The core bands are Newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m and 18-24m, and the listings do not publish chest, length or weight ranges for them. In practice that means you cannot measure your baby against a chart; you choose the band and, because knits stretch but do not grow, you size up when your baby is near the top of one. A chunky knit jumpsuit in 3-6m on a long four-month-old will fit for weeks, not months.
The accessories use their own bands. Beanies come in 0-3m and 3-12m (the Little Bear beanie and Classic Bow Beanie in 0-6m), headbands in a single 0-12m, booties in 0-3m and 3-6m, and every Bring Me Home bundle in Newborn and 0-3m only (the Cloud Bundle also comes in 3-6m). At the other end, the Cozy Teddy Kid's Set and the Color Block lounge sets run 2-3Y through 5-6Y, and there are Mama versions of the Cozy Teddy and Beach Time sets in XS through XL for a matching family photo.
Two sizing habits worth adopting: order the jumpsuit one band up from the beanie, because the beanie's 3-12m band is forgiving and the jumpsuit's is not; and for a coming-home bundle, pick 0-3m over Newborn when in doubt, since there is no size above it in most bundles.
Fabric and care: what the listings say
Most of the line is listed as 100% organic cotton, including the three classic jumpsuits, the embroidered rompers, every Bring Me Home bundle, the pom beanies, the bow headbands, the organic booties and both knit blankets. The brand's own description says it uses certified organic cotton; the individual listings do not name the certifying body, so we are not going to name one either.
The exceptions are stated plainly on each product page, and they are worth knowing before you buy for a baby with sensitive skin: the Cozy Teddy Kimono Set, the Cozy Teddy jumpsuit and the Cozy Teddy Kid's Set are 100% polyester; the Cozy Bunny Romper is a recycled polyester, nylon and wool blend; the Little Deer Jumpsuit has a polyester hood lining; the bamboo jumpsuits are 95% bamboo and 5% spandex; the bodysuit-and-pant sets are 98% organic cotton with 2% spandex; and the Cashmere Luxxe Booties are cashmere.
Care is where Luna + Luca asks something of you. The standard instruction across the knits is a cold, gentle wash with like colors and lay flat to dry (a few listings say hang dry). Only the polyester teddy pieces and the printed tees are listed for the dryer, on low. The cashmere booties are hand wash only. If your laundry routine is wash-and-tumble, budget for the knits to spend a day drying on a rack, and skip the Chunky Knit in favor of the bodysuit sets for daily wear.
Where to buy Luna + Luca
EasyTot carries the full Luna + Luca line, from the $12 headbands to the $141 Rib Bundle, with the jumpsuits, rompers, bundles, beanies, booties, blankets and sets all in one place: luna and luca baby clothes on EasyTot. Shipping, returns and any current promotion are on the product pages.
If you are putting together a newborn gift, the pairing we would suggest is a knit jumpsuit plus the matching Pom Beanie (about $80 together), or a Bring Me Home bundle on its own. For a baby shower where several people are chipping in, the Rib or Scallop bundle is the one piece in the line that genuinely feels like a $140 gift when it is opened.
The honest complaints
Everything is lay flat to dry. This is the first thing to know before buying, and it is a fair complaint. A cotton knit that goes through a hot dryer will shrink and felt, and the brand's instructions reflect that. If you wash baby clothes daily and dry them in the machine, the knits will not survive the way a jersey bodysuit does.
The fuzzy pieces are not cotton. If you come to the brand for organic cotton, note that the plushest items, the Cozy Teddy set, jumpsuit, bonnet and the Cozy Bunny Romper, are polyester or a blend. The listings say so, but the product photos do not make it obvious.
Bundles stop at 0-3 months. The coming-home sets are gorgeous and short-lived. There is no 3-6m in most of them, so a bigger baby gets a few weeks of wear from a $141 set.
Sizes come and go by color. Because the classics are released in seasonal colors, a given jumpsuit may be offered in only three or four of the six bands at any moment (the Powder Blue Pom Beanie, for example, was on pre-order when we checked). If you need a specific size, buy the color that has it rather than waiting.
No garment measurements. The size options list age bands only. Brands like KIPP publish garment lengths; Luna + Luca does not, so between-bands babies involve some guesswork.
The blankets are small. At 32 by 40 inches they are a stroller or play blanket. That is the right size for supervised use, and the listings say never to put them in the crib, but if you were picturing a receiving blanket you can swaddle with, look at muslin instead.
How Luna + Luca compares
Versus KIPP Collection: KIPP's newborn layette is velour footies and footie-and-hat sets from $21, with a coming-home set at $88, and KIPP publishes garment measurements. Luna + Luca is the knit specialist: nothing in KIPP's baby line matches the Chunky or Cable Knit Jumpsuit. Our KIPP Collection review covers the sizing charts in detail.
Versus Cottier: Cottier starts at size 2 and runs to 16, with wool pinafores, pleated jumpers and cable knits for older kids. If you loved Luna + Luca for a baby and want the same knit-heavy look for a preschooler, Cottier is the natural next brand; see the Cottier kids clothing review.
Versus Angel Dear: Angel Dear is the bamboo-jersey brand, with footies, rompers and bubbles that are soft, stretchy and dryer-friendly. For daily wear and sleep, Angel Dear is easier to live with; for the photo, the gift and the first outing, Luna + Luca's knits win. It is reasonable to own both for exactly that split.
For the bodysuits underneath any of these, our guide to the best newborn onesies and bodysuits compares the basics by fabric and closure.
Who should buy Luna + Luca, and who should skip it
Buy Luna + Luca if you want one or two knit pieces that make the newborn photos, the coming-home outfit and the holiday card, you are happy to lay knits flat to dry, and you are shopping Newborn through 18-24 months. The Classic Chunky Knit Jumpsuit at $52 plus a $28 Pom Beanie is the best first purchase, and a Bring Me Home bundle is the best gift.
Skip Luna + Luca if you machine-dry everything, you need a size chart with measurements, you are buying mainly for a toddler over two, or you want plush fleece in organic cotton (the teddy pieces are polyester).
Bottom line: Luna + Luca makes the best-looking organic cotton baby knits at this price, and it asks for a little care in return. Buy the jumpsuit, the beanie and one bundle; wash cold, dry flat, and they will outlast the baby and go into the keepsake box. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Luna and Luca the same brand as Luna + Luca?
Yes. The brand writes its name Luna + Luca; "Luna and Luca", "Luna & Luca" and "Luca and Luna" are all the same mom-owned baby clothing label, and every listing on EasyTot carries the vendor name Luna + Luca.
What sizes do Luna + Luca jumpsuits run?
The knit jumpsuits are offered in Newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m and 18-24m, though not every color carries every size. The listings do not publish garment measurements, so go by your baby's age band and size up if your baby is at the top of one.
Are Luna + Luca knits machine-washable?
Most listings say machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, or a cold gentle wash with like colors, then lay flat to dry. The exceptions are the polyester Cozy Teddy pieces, which can tumble dry low, and the Cashmere Luxxe Booties, which are hand wash only.
Is Luna + Luca clothing organic cotton?
Most knit jumpsuits, rompers, Bring Me Home bundles, beanies, headbands, booties and blankets are listed as 100% organic cotton. The exceptions are stated on each listing: the Cozy Teddy set and Cozy Teddy jumpsuit are 100% polyester, the Cozy Bunny Romper is a recycled-polyester, nylon and wool blend, the bamboo jumpsuits are 95% bamboo and 5% spandex, and the bodysuit-and-pant sets are 98% organic cotton with 2% spandex.
What comes in a Luna + Luca Bring Me Home bundle?
It depends on the bundle. The Rib Bundle includes a kimono-style top, pants, pom beanie, booties and a baby blanket for $141; the Ruffle Bundle swaps in a bow headband and pom booties; the Pointelle Set is a three-piece top, pants and bonnet for $81. Every bundle comes in Newborn and 0-3m only.
How much do Luna + Luca baby clothes cost?
Prices run from $12 for a knit bow headband to $141 for the five-piece Bring Me Home Rib Bundle, with the typical piece around $44. Knit jumpsuits are $52, rompers $42 to $46, pom beanies $27 to $28, booties $26 to $28 and the 32 by 40 inch knit blankets $52 to $56.
