The brand was founded in 2001 by Bevan Beames, who began designing protective eyewear after struggling to find safe sunglasses for his newborn on the ride home from the hospital; his Navy friend Chris Albonico joined as business partner when banks declined financing. With 25+ years of family-trusted protection across 50+ countries, BANZ designs for durability and longevity and runs community programs supporting military families and frontline heroes.
