Activities include puzzles, comics, and recipes. One shopper noted content may be too basic for some 8-year-olds. "Great value" with engaging cultural representation.

This is a fantastic supplement to our Social Studies curriculum. We use MyWorld-and we've used it for first & second grade. The magazines allow us some extra dive-in time and activities in a really fun way-because let's be honest here-social studies can't always be hands-on and super fun, ha. Sometimes the best we can do to make something interesting are relevant puzzles, comics, coloring pages, recipes or seek-n-finds. And I love ANYTHING that gets us off a screen! Since my daughter is on the younger side, I know we can use these again when she is a bit older and glean even more from each magazine. This is a great value!

My 6-year-old (and now her 3-year-old sister) is hooked on Honest History podcasts and won't stop asking for it every time we get in the car. She loves learning stories about history, like how London's first sewer system was built, the time Boston flooded with molasses, Lewis Latimer's great lightbulb idea, Napoleon's very cold Russian winter, and more. The stories are appropriate for kids and eye opening. They open up discussions about the importance and value of acquiring skills at school and learning lessons from history. We're so glad that this entertaining, fun podcast exists. Before we started listening, I read on Reddit that some users were skeptical that history lessons could be unbiased. I would hazard that this podcast is about as unbiased as you can get, and mostly focuses on fun stories that happened in the past like above. The magazine is beautifully and impeccably illustrated. I'm so glad that we have a resource like this to get kids interested in learning and learning about history and science.

A Wonderful Beginning!

I loved this magazine. I am now doing the rest of the subscription, and I enjoyed the comic strip, as well as the cool artwork and fascinating history. I think you should write one about the history of Peru

Lovely graphics and helpful information

Really beautifully produced with helpful information. I thought the content would be written at a higher level- my daughter is 8 and was bored by it. Granted, it was all focused on South Africa and she wasn't super interested in the topic. I'm looking forward to future issues with a wider range of content.

7 and 9 absolutely devour these magazines

Since history in school has been shortened, I have started collecting and offering honest history at our reading times. I leave them on the coffee table, side tables, etc to just inspire them to read more. They absolutely love them now. My 9 year old is asking for more!

I’ve learned so much just reading with them.

Quality Material

I received A Good Hope and was impressed. The quality of the magazine was superior to others I have received in the past. Additionally, I was easily able to research the contributors to the material and see that they are well qualified researchers and writers. The illustrations are engaging. I do wish the shipping was easier to track, but that’s certainly not a deal breaker.
