The set was a Christmas Gift for our 4year old grandchild who has always been interested in building unusual structures. The combination of shapes and sizes and thoughtful design of blocks open many options for imaginative buildings.

I just cemented myself as my niece's favorite. She is the first grandchild (and, unless she gets siblings, will be the only). She is only 6 months old right now, and Christmas is still 2 months away, but what child does not want the biggest block set out there? Is this block set partially for me, her uncle? Maybe. Will this block set make me the coolest Uncle for years to come? Yes, it will! Next year I will be back for the marble mazes!

Great, heavy duty set of blocks that remind me of what I had as a kid. It's hard to find this level of quality anywhere, and these are very popular with all three kids.

The set comes with a wide assortment of blocks that you don't see with other brands. I also love that these blocks are compatible with the Haba marble runs (not sure if they are still sold on the website, but easy to find secondhand), as well as Grimm's and Lovevery blocks.
My only frustration with them is that the edges aren't beveled and will leave marks on hardwood floors if they land on an edge. My workaround to protect my hardwoods is to have my kids build using a platform (from Everwood Friends) on the rug.
As other reviewers mentioned, I, too, had to sand a handful of rough blocks, but that wasn't a big deal as I have sandpaper on hand.

My kids love these blocks. They’re perfect for imaginative play, they’re lightweight (so when they tumble, they don’t hurt), and smooth. Good for all ages - the smallest pieces can fit in a toddler’s mouth, so be mindful of that. Other than that, I have a 5, 4, and 1 year old and each one of them loves playing with this set.

I really like the variety of shapes and sizes. It will be fairly sturdy. More than half of the blocks had rough edges that needed sanding and two blocks needed a side sanded because they were abraded. Inspecting each piece before giving it to an 18 month old or any child that puts things in their mouth is a good idea because some blocks might be too rough or cause splinters. I'm glad my child likes this set but I would have preferred to not sand so many blocks.

Purchased as a Christmas gift for my 4 and 7 year olds so they haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. My 7 year old needs practice with his visual spatial skills so I thought this would be helpful. I am excited about the quality, wood instead of plastic, varied shapes, and ability to add to our collection with HABA sets. Customer service was also very helpful resolving an issue on another item received in the same delivery.

These blocks are perfect for a toddler that is starting to get more into independent playing and building. My daughter loves playing with these and building structures. They are perfect for her size and are easy for her to play with.

We have been using these blocks every day for a few weeks now. All of my kids love them, including the 8 year old! There are so many fun things that we’ve been building, and the shapes of these blocks are very unique. They did have a fairly strong smell when we opened them, but they have aired out by now. The storage bag that comes with them is very large, and it makes clean up so easy. This is the type of toy that will last forever, and we are enjoying every minute with them.

I absolutely love these blocks. I love that they're made of wood. We try to buy everything we can that's non-toxic for our children, which means little to no plastic toys. We buy wooden toys as much as we can because we love the durability, and these blocks are no different. They are super durable, and super fun to build towers, castles, houses, etc. With. My kids haven't put them down since we recieved them.

My kids love these blocks. I love seeing them being creative and seeing what house designs they can make or even seeing how high they can stack a block. It's fun for kids of all ages at least it is in my house my kids ages are 2, 3 and 8. I don't have to worry about these blocks because they're made out of wood and are big so I know the little ones won't eat it! The bag it comes with for all the blocks is also a great add on makes it easy to put away and carry out when ready to play with! Highly impressed with these blocks!

These are super high-quality wood blocks. I’ve purchased so many and they’ve all been smaller than expected or are not smooth. These have no splinters and they are large blocks. This set is so fun because there are so many combinations to create since the blocks intersect and balance on each other. My kid can really grow with these blocks because of the quality and the open play options. When they're young, they can build flat or just use the simple shapes to stack and knock them down. And when they get older, I can't wait to see what they build!

What fun these Extra large blocks are my kids love them including me . They are very well built blocks solid made to last forever and all the shapes are the best to build anything. I really spend 4 hours with these blocks building with my kids from castle’s to forts whatever comes to mind we build it. I give this product a 10 out of 10 stars for a great product and well built blocks. It a most have in every home. HABA all your products are the best I wouldn’t want anything else for my kids. I'm so impressed by these wooden blocks. They very well made and the variety of shapes and sizes entertains my daughter for hours. She loves to build with these and makes new structures daily. I love how they let her imagination run wild because she can build whatever she's dreaming up. The wood is great quality and has held up so well to constant play. I can see these lasting a few lifetimes.

This is a wonderful blocks set! The variety of shapes and sizes is really good. All of my children play with them, but my boys (ages 8 and 6) enjoy them the most. They build houses, castles, roads, bridges, etc. every day. They use cars and little action figures with them. The quality of the blocks is excellent, they smelled like wood when we first opened the package. We love them!

This is our second set. We already have the HABA large starter blocks for my son. He loves it! (I recommend the set if your children are under 3years old because the pieces that the set includes are basic shapes! It's easy for younger children to built.) We decided to add the extra large starter blocks, so he could build more bigger and unique buildings with different shapes!
