This hanging toiletry kit offers excellent organization with multiple compartments and a detachable liquids pouch. Customers praised its capacity, sturdy hook, and "white interior lining" for visibility. However, some found it smaller than expected, with concerns about the plastic pouch size and limited space for bulkier items. A few noted it feels expensive for the quality.
- The organization is ideal, the hook is completely handy, and it holds every toiletry!
- One of the best features is the WHITE interior lining. Makes it easy to see items.
- Durable, strong and effective -- everything I want in a toiletry kit!

I splurged on the toiletries bag after reading about it on Wirecutter. It has been perfect for me, holds all my toiletries and fits nicely in my suitcase. One of the best features is the WHITE interior lining. This makes it easy to see items in the pouches. I am online to buy one as a gift and they all seem to have dark lining or lining that matches the bag. Please consider going back to a light or white interior, such as nice feature.

As many people have pointed out already, this bag is amazing! It's been with me on more than a dozen trips and holds just the right amount of stuff with the right level of organization.
What I'm even more impressed by though is the customer service! At some point I punctured the liquids bag and emailed them about a replacement, honestly not expecting much because who has replacement parts these days? But they promptly replied and sent me a new liquids bag no questions asked! That'll give the bag a whole new life :) Thank you State Bags!

I really like my bag for several reasons - light weight, can hold enough for 3 weeks of travel, hangs, packs well, the different pockets are perfect. But for me, one annoying item is there should be two ways to open the zipper compartments (not sure what you call it - double zippers openers - maybe). There are times I want the compartment zipped up in the middle for easy, quick access. Other than this, definitely a 5 star product.

I am not sure what would make this bag perfect it does feel like one little tweak would get it there. Until I think of what that one little thing is though, I am enjoying the heck out of packing this bag. It holds much more than I think when I start packing it. So I just keep putting things in it and have not been able to strain that zipper yet. I hear that the plastic bag is not really waterproof so that is one thing that could be improved. It does seem like it would contain a creamy mess so I do keep all my creamy things in there. I got the smaller bag and it is big enough for lots of travel size things and full size make up items. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

I like everything about this bag - color, internal mesh pouches, hanger. What I don't like is that the plastic container is too small - it doesn't easily hold my toothbrush nor the containers that the usual 1 quart bag limit allow. I like the material of this part but not the size.

After using the same toiletry kit from Eddie Bauer for fifteen years, I switched to the Bensen. I chose it after reading the reviews and because of the recommendation from Wirecutter.
Bensen's first test was an eight-day trip to Europe from the U.S., during which time I got the hang of what worked where.
If you have many bulky items you want to fit into your toiletry bag, consider getting the bigger size of Bensen. I carried those items in a separate bag.
Here's what I loved:
It is sturdy and has a clean design that looks good.
The hook was also sturdy and worked well. That's important to me.
The compartments were varied and roomy, especially the main mesh compartment where I put most of my stuff.
The detachable make-up bag (that's what I used it for) was a game changer. I could keep my make-up together in a hotel bathroom drawer instead of leaving it hanging. I was able to put all my make-up in it. I also detached the make-up bag to make it easier to close when complete. Unlike my old suitcase, I couldn't include big bottles of saline solution and a big brush in this bag, but stowing those items in another part of the suitcase was no problem.
There's nothing I disliked about this bag. It served its purpose. I need to get used to it.

This is my first purchase of a toiletry bag as I have just used a general zippered bag up till now. Having compartments is great and it’s a perfect size, I can really fit all my stuff for travel. I would have liked a bigger clear plastic compartment but I find it works well to add some containers into the main large compartment. I definitely recommend! Lots of colors and patterns to choose from!

Deceptively big. The waterproof pouch is perfect for things that can spill

Bought this for my wife. It is
1. Really attractive. The "rainbow" is distinctive, whimsical, and fun. Makes me smile when I see it.
2. Very functional. Good size without being too big. Good compartmentalization without being too fussy.
Really happy with the purchase.
My wife is ALSO very happy with it
FYI I only leave reviews for products that deserve the time and effort.

The person that I got the gift for, loved it, so I was happy for that. I personally thought that it was mediocre and overpriced.

I love the toiletries bag for it’s detachable liquid side but a bit small even fot tsa. Otherwise well made a bit on heavy side

The bag is fine enough and has all the basics for function, but it looks and feels cheap which is a huge disappointment for the price. I gave it as a gift and was a little embarrassed by the feel of it.

The bag is very good looking. The downside is that it doesn’t hold as much as I’d hoped it would (e.g.: there isn’t a good toothbrush holder). It is a replacement of an old Eddie Bauer bag which had better compartments. I still like the bag cause it’s really pretty and hope I will get more used to it over time. If you’re looking for a small cute toiletry bag this is the one for you. If you need more compartments maybe try something else.

I debated over this purchase for a long time and was influenced by the Wirecutter review to finally pull the trigger and have been hugely disappointed.
This is an EXPENSIVE toiletry kit (not to mention, you have to pay for shipping as well) and I regret my purchase. The bag is smaller than anticipated, doesn’t fold out flat, the zipper doesn’t zip smoothly, the liquids pouch is tiny (and also isn’t a clear quart size bag for flying), and has fewer pockets/compartments than what I would have expected.
Overall, I much prefer my Sea to Summit travel kit and would recommend passing on this one.

Ordered this for my husband, who is not a high maintenance guy. He struggles a little to get all needed items in it. However, it seems very sturdy and looks great.

Ordered the Bensen toiletry bag as a Xmas gift for my daughter. It was just what she wanted. So I must say she loved it.

Honestly I did not imagine that this bag would be perfect—but it’s perfect! The organization is ideal, the hook is completely handy, and it holds every toiletry you could want to take! I love it.

Love this product and all of the different pockets to keep everything organized. Just used it for 2 weeks in South America and it was great.

Bought to replace an LL Bean bag of the same design that is no longer available. Ended up keeping with the old bag. The State bag has too little space and the hanging hook is too narrow. The Bean version is far better.
Wish I had not bought.

I bought the Bensen Dopp kit for my seaman husband who prides himself on making do with less. However, he is eco-conscious and when I rid our house of all the plastic I could, the plastic bags he used for his toiletries disappeared. After a recent trip he told me he liked the bag- especially the hanging feature and the removable pockets. Win win.

Got this for my wife for her birthday in anticipation of our 6-week trip to New Zealand. At first she thought it would never fit all her toiletries, but it did! It's working great and doing its job with style. Thanks for making a well-designed and lovely product.

I loved my Slate toiletry bag. Definitely worth having. Very slick, great materials, and well made.
Cons: A bit expensive, not as many pockets inside as I would have hoped (toothbrush, etc).
Pros: Great quality materials, great construction, holds a LOT and still seems relatively small, inner plastic sleeve, sturdy hanging mechanism, looks Great!
Overall I love it, and highly recommend!

Great bag to organize all your makeup and toiletry items. I’ve used it on a 2 week trip and it worked well. I’ve had a single pouch in the past so I’m still trying to get used to the new layout.

This bag is everything I needed and it’s amazing! Folds up perfectly. Fits all that I need. Only qualm is the that hook on top doesn’t rotate…it’s durable and I love it! Colors are fun too!

I purchased my Bensen Toiletry Kit during the busiest month (thus far) this year -- we moved from one state to another, then went on a weeklong trip with my family, followed by a week at home before spending two weeks abroad! I was looking for a toiletry kit that could carry all of my toiletries; at this point I was using too many bags of varying sizes and they were taking up valuable space in my luggage.
I used my toiletry kit from the day I received it -- I hung it on my towel bar in my former home and it held the essential day-to-day toiletries. When it was time to drive off, I packed it with full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, shaving cream (everything I would need for the next three weeks). At every stop along our road trip, it was easy to pull out the kit, hang it on a towel bar (without fear of the hook breaking!) and access what I needed for the day. It continued to be a mainstay in my life over the last three weeks -- new home, family trip, back to the new home, and then two weeks abroad! -- and I am really glad I made this purchase.
For those of you looking for a hanging toiletry kit that holds all of your essentials, has a durable and strong hook (that was my biggest concern), and is easy to clean (when you need to) -- this was worth the investment. Thank you, STATE!
