My eight year old and I loved this book! Very exciting and we often read multiple chapters in a sitting. I also loved that there was so much vocabulary that we often don’t get to use in every day English. Very fun and descriptive words, gripping story telling, we have combed the internet and are waiting for book two!

H.L. Romquist, former cake wrestler, hit his debut novel out of the park. I read this with my 8 yr old twin boys. Every page was filled with suspense, adventure, delightful surprises and laugh out loud moments. We were sad to come to the end of Nicholas's magical adventure tonight and hope more tales of Nicholas, Max, Zenobia (and Stanley!!) are in the works.

We got a couple copies - one for my husband to read to the littles at night and one for our 11-year-old to read on his own. Everyone's a big fan! Our 11-year-old reads his copy on the bus to and from school and is almost done. The kids like the book so much that when we got three new kittens this week, the kids named them after characters from the book - Griswold, Brewster, and Mrs. Tibbetts.
