Such a great vest! This has a TON of sparkle and the sizing is true. The matching bow tie is really nice as well. Although maybe meant for a costume this could be worn for much more.

The sequins have a nice reflectance to them, so you can definitely light up a room like a disco ball if you want. That's the good part here.

Overall, though, this vest and bow tie seem like they're costume quality—not constructed to last long or wear well. Also, the smallest size (Small) is unexpectedly baggy on me (5' 6", 125#, 29" waist), even after I adjust it. I know I'm not going to fill out a size small vest, but I have a lot of vests that size and they all work fine.

I'll wear this vest for the odd outing or photo shoot, but I'm going to have to either be very gentle with it or not be upset if it doesn't last. This doesn't seem like the best value at around $30.

This vest makes for a great costume. It’s not the highest quality but a quality you’d find in a costume. I got the gold version and it is very, very shiny. The size was fairly good, slightly larger than expected, but acceptably so. Overall, it’s a good deal with a decent price. The bow tie is a bonus. It has just an elastic string, so it’s not a clip-on.

This is an over-the-top look. My Family said I looked like I should be training lions or in the parade. I got it for the odd times I needed to stand out at an event, I wore it on the last day of work. A white shirt, this cherry boom vest, black slacks, and a black blazer, may a statement. One that they still talk about weeks later.

I ordered a large and it was tight but useable, I should have gotten the XL and Had a bit more room, but it's not like I'm wearing it weekly, so the large worked. The build is solid and the layout of the sequined was tight and looked like a mirror. Great look.

Cheaply made and I wouldn't expect it to last for more than a one time wear. Unfortunately, once I got it out of the package, I could tell it wouldn't work for my purposes so I didn't wear it. There were lots of loose threads and the material is very thin. I would be concerned that the vest would rip at the seams with one energetic dance move. The buttons were somewhat difficult to unbutton. I think the quality of the bow tie is better but there is much to it. It's made of the same sequins are the vest, and it is secured around the neck with an elastic band.

This vest is fun, the quality is so-so, lots of loose threads along the seams (see photo). For $30 I expected slightly better quality. Once I removed the loose threads, the vest looked good enough to wear to a party and served my needs.

The fit is a little snug, particularly in the chest/back area. I ordered LG, which is my regular size in US clothing. I wish it was also more tailored on the bottom sides.

The bowtie looks cheap, a bit oversized, almost clown-like, and sewn to a plain white elastic band, so I didn't wear it.

This is definitely costume quality, but it is still good enough to wear to a high school dance if you are trying to outshine the disco ball. My sons love this stuff, and since neither currently has a girlfriend that they don't have to try to not embarrass, this was perfect for the last dance. It did not fall apart, and combined with the sequined jacket and shimmery pants (did I mention the no girlfriend part?) it was apparently a huge hit.

This sequin vest with bow tie definitely delivered on style and sparkle! The surprise for me was that this vest is real clothing, not something you'd buy at a Halloween store with a back made of something akin to paper. You'd think it was, based on the bag it comes in. But this is a real vest and made with fabric and has an adjustable belt. So that's good. But it also has...sequins. Gold sequins (in our case). So...it's not something you want to wear to a wedding (unless you're the entertainment).

We had a hard time deciding between the large and the medium. My hubby is slim but broad-shouldered with little fat, so he usually wears a large, but sometimes he's a medium (approx. 5'8' 170 lbs). Based on the size chart, which seemed to be telling us that he needed a small, we compromised with the medium. And good thing we didn't go large, because the medium was almost too big for him. It was downright baggy (fortunately, it has a belt in the back). His un-slim friend also tried it on, and it was even quite roomy on him, so, by no means would I recommend sizing up. Based on the size guide, which is nothing like a US size guide, it would seem that sizing down is the way to go.

I can't say if it's worth $30. That seems a little steep for its costumey feel (especially the bow tie, which is flat out silly). But if you need a sparkly, sequined vest for some reason, this is a pretty good bet. Even a better bet, when you realize it can be machine washed, indicating decent enough quality.

This Dress Up America brand sequin vest brilliantly sparkles and shines! While the boxy cut is not tapered and does not have a tailored look, it makes a great costume piece. The vest is somewhat large and baggy, but there is a belt on the back which can help the fit at the waist. The arm holes are also cut too large. However, if you're dancing, you'll want some room. You could buy a size down, but then the vest may shift and buckle when you move your arms. The shiny show vest comes with a matching bow tie which has an elastic strap. Although an elastic-banded tie is not normally a desired feature, as a costume piece, it's appropriate. It allows for quick costume changes. I've purchased similar show vests in the past, and while this vest is a little pricier than similar items, the sequins make this product shine above others.

As a DJ, public speaker and entertainer, I'm always looking for great stage clothes. After all, when I'm doing a show, everything is entertainment! Naturally, when I saw this, I had to take it for a spin. Let me start off with the things I liked most: the color of the sequins POPS! It's the brightest of reds. Also, if you've worn sequins, you know that they often like to stick together, sometimes locking together and even pulling each other out. To the credit of the makers of this ensemble, none of that was evident. Lastly, I love the bejeweled, white buttons! For what entertainers used to call "flash trash," this definitely brings the flash!

On the downside, I'm a solid medium, yet the vest was a bit snug. Based on this, I might suggest going one size up. While the front of the vest is brightly sequined, the backing is a thin, red fabric, leaving me to wonder how many shows it might make it through. I'd probably elect to keep my coat on for the entirety of the show. The front pockets are decorations only. The bow tie is.... well... a bit more costume grade rather than actual formal wear. It's held on by an elastic band, so it's best used with a traditional fold-over collar rather than the French cut I chose for these photos. (Both look pretty good with my red sequined jacket, though!) Still, it's a nice touch to top off the look. Overall, then, it's a pretty flashy look, suitable for stage entertainers, musicians, magicians or a humble DJ; clothing for when you want to be seen as well as heard. Appropriately priced.

This is a 2 piece set, vestc and bow tie, that one can wear as a costume. We got the one in gold and yes, it is shiny, dazzling, and bright! The front of the vest and bow tie is covered with sequins. It is not covered in glitter or rhinestones. I prefer sequins because glitter is so messy and falls off; if it had rhinestones, it would be fairly heavy and uncomfortable. If you are a sequin connoisseur, this is not a faceted sequin with the center hole; this is a flat sequin with an edge (top) hole. Each sequin is sewn on and actually fairly stable. If you are going out for a fun occasion this set would be ideal. I wouldn’t wear it to a wedding but it is perfect for Casino Night dealers, New Year’s Eve, or Mardi Gras.

The vest itself is pointed in the front and flat across the back bottom hem. It has two plackets that are only decorative, meaning they are not pockets in the front. There are 3 clear, faceted, and acrylic two-hole buttons. The back of the vest is a gold, satin-y fabric with two ties that should buckle together, which allows you to slightly cinch to make it your size. Of course that can’t make it larger, if you find this too tight. The back straps are the reason this is 4 stars rather than 5 stars. They made a mistake when sewing the straps. Difficult to explain, so I’ll just say the seam is crooked. Does it make a difference? If someone is looking at your back ties they will notice. If you wear this under a jacket no one will ever see it. I won’t send it back for this sewing error but it does keep it from perfection. The vest is lined with a gold satin-y that is slightly less shiny that its back side, but you might not even notice that, and it certainly doesn’t take away from the vest because lining often doesn’t match the exterior and maybe even be a patterned fabric.

Overall this is great for a costume piece and I expect it to hold up for 6 or more events. If it needs to be washed be sure to do it by hand, or spot clean any stains. I’m pretty sure a washing machine would rip it apart. I think it will be comfortable to wear, especially with long sleeves. If you go sleeveless or short sleeves you will probably find the sequins to irritate your inner arm sides (worst thing about sequined clothing).

This is easy to wear and put on, the size matches what it claims to be. Like any off-the rack vest, the fit won't be perfect without tailoring, but it is very good, and easy to adjust the strap in back to improve the fit. Sometimes you just need a sparkly vest and matching bow-tie, and it should look good and be comfortable.
