Zimmerman shoes fit exact to the foot — there is no extra room built in, so please measure before ordering rather than using your child’s usual size or age. If the measurement lands between two sizes, pick the half size in between (half sizes sit midway between the whole sizes listed below). For growing room, go up half a size — a full size up is usually too big. (Reference: an average 1-year-old wears size 4.)
How to measure (no printer needed)
- Draw a straight line on a sheet of paper and have your child stand on it, heel and longest toe on the line.
- Mark heel and longest toe, then measure between the marks. Leave a little room for socks or tights.
- Find the measurement in the chart below — if it falls between sizes, choose the half size in between.
Prefer exact? Print Zimmerman’s official measuring template (PDF) at 100% scale on letter paper — page 1 has a credit-card box to confirm it printed at true size.
