Whole family loves this!

Our whole family (mom, dad, 5 and 1 year old) loves our Mainstay, A-frame arm and round swing. Only gave a 4 star rating because it was more difficult to assemble than anticipated, even with the assembly video.

Absolutely Love Our Bijou

My daughter has some physical challenges that make independent play hard. This swingset and the ability for her to sit comfortably and safely to swing has made very day fun for her. She loves to go out and swing!

So simple and fun!

SO easy to put up! The instructions were a big vague in some regards, but honestly it was so simple to put up that it didn't really matter. The sway swings are SO comfortable! The kids are already climbing all over it and having a great time with it. Highly recommend.

Loving our Bijou Build!!

While we haven’t completed the entirety of our Big Build, what we have put up has been a hit with our daughters and friends. Can’t wait to finish putting it together so that it can be enjoyed in its entirety

Beautiful, fun, sturdy and got us back outside!

I first saw the bijou build on Instagram and fell in love with it!! I wanted to purchase it at least a year or more before we actually did but due to financial reasons we had to wait. We purchased the mainstay and sway for my sons 7th birthday and it's amazing! It's better than the pics! I absolutely love it!!! It's beautiful, fun, relaxing and a great place to pretend or just escape to! The panels are perfect for us as they let light in but filter enough of the powerful rays of the sun that we can hang out in the teepee even on really sunny hot days. We even experimented with a magnifying glass and some dried leaves and while outside focusing the suns light they the magnifying glass caused the dry leaf to smoke and burn within seconds. We went inside the teepee and tried the same thing and the leaf never even got warm and never smoked. We had a nasty flu bug that took us out for a few weeks and I had allowed my son to play a video game for the first time. I was desperate for rest but didn't realize this would cause an addiction and make him lose interest in playing outside. Once we got this set, he's been waking up and looking forward to going outside again to play on his swingset! The neighbors have even come over to comment on how cool the set looks and the beauty of it at night. It was very hard for me to put together but I did it myself which I DO NOT recommend nor does the company as it states 2 or more adults should assemble. The straps were tricky to understand off printed instructions but the videos on their website were so helpful and I was able to do them. The hardest thing was reattaching the top of the panel after attaching the swing arm. We had thunderstorms, tornado warnings with crazy wind that took down trees and branches but the bijou is still standing and together! Very very happy with purchase!!!!

Just amazing!

The kids (4 and 7) love it and their friends quickly figure out it is great too. The structure is solid and doesn't move when kids swing hard. With the second level in the tent it is impossible to compte how many tome they move up and down. Especially up using the climbing wall. My daughter also love building little nest with blankets and soft toys on either level of the tent. It as easily survived and army of kids and still look brand new after nearly a month of daily use. Definitely recommend this product. We also added additional swing accessories such as traditional swing, monkeys bar and swing rope that can be swapped in second. The kids sure used all of them!

Best play set, impossible directions!

We bought the big bijou knowing our children would love it, it is amazing!! The paper directions and the video aren’t quite the same, it appears things have been updated but the directions haven’t been? Also, the time to assemble was greatly misrepresented (one hour and two adults for a mainstay — took 2 hours with 4 adults for each one). Our biggest question when adding the swings to one mainstay is how far apart the feet of the mainstay should be to get the crossbar to hang at 16 inches….. we ultimately had to lay it on the ground, add the metal piece, then stand it back up. Looking forward to lots of happy outside play — kids have been on it for three days with barely a break! Great playset, directions need some help! Thank you!

Best Play Set For Sensory Seeking Kids

We absolutely love our Mainstay and Sway from Bijou! The set provides multiple ways to play and receive calming sensory input. Swinging help my kids (3 and 5 years old) regulate their nervous system and the pouch-like swings with cushions hold their bodies in nice and snug. Climbing provides heavy work which releases energy and reduces hyperactive behavior. Sitting in the Mainstay provides a sense of safety and security, which reduces sensory overload and gives their nervous system permission to relax. Beyond the physical and emotional benefits, I just really love the way the set looks!! It is aesthetically pleasing and great quality. Highly recommend!

Smart design

We love the tee-pee(Mainstay) and have been very impressed with the design and durability. The roller for transport is absolutely worth the money. We just put together the swing set arm, and while it works and the kids love it - it is less “temporary” and requires tools to assemble/disassemble each time. It may be something that’s put up when we know we have a long stretch of nice weather and the kids are home. We live in an HOA that doesn’t allow play sets outside of our fenced in yard, but our best open space/grass is the rest of our yard (fenced in part is small with numerous trees and our dogs use it so 💩 is usually a risk). This works great for moving around the yard and allowing the kids to have a play structure but still meeting the HOA criteria of “temporary”.

Unique, solid and fun!

I bought this play set for you grandson's and wanted something solid. that would withstand their sometimes, rough play. I also wanted it to look really cool in my yard. Well, this play structure doesn't disappoint. It's well designed and looks amazing in my unique mountain-side yard. I can even play on it! My grandson's love all of the options. I bought all of the swings and they are so easy to change out. So far, this gets a 5 star rating from me.

The Perfect Dose of Whimsy

Just put together our first Bijou Nest but added a clamber panel and staked it in the ground. We all love it, all ages neighbors included. Spent half an hour just spinning on the hover swing with my son yesterday and can’t wait to use it with upcoming fall temps, as well. Took longer than an hour to install - more like half a day to make sure the ground was even enough and deal with other small miscellaneous issues - but well worth it!

Confusing Instructions

This is our third purchase from Bijou. We have the mainstay, the rope bridge and now the swing set arm. The instructions that are sent with the items could all use more detail. The parts are labeled at the beginning but then during the instruction breakdown sometimes it says to use the labeled piece and other times it just says to add the bolts. A more consistent and details explanation of what to actually do would be helpful.

We've also noticed that the images of the parts don't always match the parts that are sent. I'm not sure if this is because things have changed and the instructions have not but it makes it hard to follow especially when parts aren't labeled. For example, the piece that is used to attach the swing arm to the mainstay looked different on the instructions than the actual piece we had. Related to this piece, it told us to put a wood screw in on the front but didn't mention putting any wood screws on the side, even though there were holes.

We love the products but it is usually a headache trying to read instructions to put them up. I have also done a lot of searches on youtube and google to see if there are videos of how to set things up. I know you have some for the mainstay but videos of other pieces would be helpful. Also if it's more broken down and easy to follow.

Hard to assemble if you don’t have a flat yard

My kids love the swings. But from parents perspective assembly and positioning is hard if you don’t have a perfectly flat yard. especially for big bijou. online video instructions are not thorough. product doesn’t feel sturdy and the wood system feels flimsy/ weak (even for 2 toddlers). The wood bends and makes crackling sound if an adult sits on the hammock. we bought the wood from local HD. Wish it was designed with a thicker wood.

The instructions were VERY lacking and I am concerned about the discrepancy between the number of holes shown in the hardware on the instructions vs the actual number of holes. Many pieces are shown as having two holes on the instructions but only have one!! It seems to me that would affect the structural integrity. I was also very surprised to find that for $400 there are no swings included. I did not realize this at first. If it werent for already owning and liking the Mainstay I would never have gone with this, but I am sure we will enjoy this in combination with the Mainstay, as long as it holds up with time.

"The best thing ever"

Our daughter said - loudly - that "this is the best thing ever" after playing on it with her brother for hours. It was pretty easy to set up, and it looks great in the backyard, but really the best endorsement is that our kids have been outside (in our relatively small yard) basically all summer because of it. Absolutely would recommend.

Swing Arm

We love it! It was pretty easy to assemble. Our backyard is pretty flat, but we could tell it was a little off when we went to attach the swing arm to our mainstay. Our mainstay is spread pretty wide, so the part that attaches to it was higher than the directions stated. I was glad that we tried to fit everything together before adjusting the mainstay and screwing things in because it was still a little low on the mainstay end (due to the slightly uneven ground), so adjusting would have made it worse and been more work. The slight slant of the top beam also makes one of the swings a tad closer to the mainstay than I would prefer, but my kids have short legs and don't seem to mind. Doing it again, I would have waited to screw in the hooks that the swings attach to until I could see how the swings would hang. These are all issues because of our backyard and not the product's fault, so my only complaint with the product itself is that the included drill bit was starting to strip screws and broke off in a screw 3/4 of the way through assembly, so including an extra drill bit might be a good idea in the future.
