About Klean Kanteen
Klean Kanteen traces back to inventor Robert Seals, who prototyped the first reusable stainless steel water bottle in the US with materials from his local hardware store and founded the company in Chico, California in 2004 — offering a safer, more sustainable alternative to single-use plastic, free of aluminum and BPA liners. Today the range spans bottles, tumblers, kid and toddler cups, insulated food jars and all the caps and straws to match, and the company walks its talk: Climate Neutral Certified since 2020, with more than $4.4 million donated to environmental non-profits through 1% for the Planet since 2008.

Customers praised the improved flow rate and leak-proof design, with many noting "great flow, no leaks." The cap is easy to clean, one-handed operation, and popular with kids. However, some reported occasional leaking if not closed properly and difficulty opening/closing. A few wished for more color options and found the carrying loop slightly sharp.

  • This gen3 has a great flow, no leaks, and I am now drinking multiple bottles a day
  • The seal is perfect, so no leaks from the bottle. The flow of water is great
  • Easy to use hands-free, easy to clean, and produces a great flow rate
  • 5 stars: 129 (81%)
  • 4 stars: 19 (12%)
  • 3 stars: 4 (3%)
  • 2 stars: 2 (1%)
  • 1 star: 6 (4%)

Great flow

I had the gen2 sport cap but the flow was restricted and I had to suck to get water out
This gen3 has a great flow , no leaks, and I am now drinking multiple bottles a day ( which I guess I should be ) instead of one

More colors please!

We prefer these old classic lids over the new pour spout. Would love more colors of these.

Kid Approved

My child prefers this cap to the metal twist off cap. He takes it to school every day in his backpack and it doesn’t seem to leak.

Great replacement, need more colors

So thankful to be able to replace the cap and not the whole bottle. Both of my kids open the caps with their teeth, and eventually bite through the silicone. We each have 3 Kleen Kanteen bottles that we cycle through weekly, and I have to replace caps at least yearly, if not sooner. My only complaint is the limited color selection. I wish there were available in more colors, including white.

Very happy that you provide

Very happy that you provide these for the 'old school' Klean Kantenns. Otherwise, mine would have gone to recycling or landfill. So far; so good on both purchases.

Happy Mom of accident prone kid

I love that I can swap out the lids as they break down. With other companies I have to just buy a whole new bottle. My kid is very accident prone and over time the lids crack and leak. This one is great for sports where the bottle falls over and it does not leak.

Love This Cap

I love how easily I can drink from this cap and it’s the only one I’ve ever used for years as you can control how quickly the water is dispensed, a lot or a little.

Great cap

These caps work really well, don't leak, and make the bottles easy to carry. Unfortunately, our dog likes to chew on them, so I had to get a replacement.

Great and convenient

This cap is great. It makes drinking water so much easier than with the metal cap that you have to unscrew every time you want to have a drink.

Fits non-Kleen metal bottles. Great for working out. The cap on top gets in the way a bit when you drink your water. But overall, great!

So awesome to be able to replace the entire cap but also have the option to just replace specific parts. I so appreciate this. Helps keep mostly functional caps out of the landfill!
