I like the stark...

I like the stark simplicity. Bars on the side are neat but make it a hard deck to fairly randomize since you can see a rough distribution of values from the side.

Great design and feel, but...

First of all, these cards are beautiful! I love the minimalist back design, and the numbering system on the faces are great, especially when you only partially spread the deck so only the very edges are visible. The feel of the cards (the stock, the finish, thickness) are fantastic, on par with most decks I've purchased from Art of Play. However, I don't feel that I can give all 5 stars due to the fact that the deck I opened had some flaws. Firstly, the edges seemed to be very roughly cut, more so than even some notorious Bicycle Standards. Secondly, on a few of the cards there seemed to be spots where the coating was splotchy, or had been worn off. Thirdly, as soon as I opened the deck I saw a place where two of the cards had been gouged, tearing a small section of a single layer of the back/face paper near the edge. Now, none of these defects make the cards unusable for playing games, cardistry, or magic, and perhaps this is the one anomaly in a thousand that slipped past quality control. However, I do feel that paying $18 for one deck of cards should guarantee a very high standard of quality and a blemish-free product. This one (out of 6 that I purchased) did not live up to the standard that I know Art of Play is known for.
