Flip Lid

Flip Lid

Regular price $12.00
Sale price Regular price $11.95

This flip lid receives mixed feedback. While some customers appreciate its availability and find it "perfect for HOT coffee" for desk use, the majority report significant design flaws. Customers consistently mention spilling issues, with one stating it "dribbles everywhere every single time." The opening is frequently criticized as too wide, causing spills while drinking or walking. The seal is described as inadequate, leaking even when closed.

Lid is awful

This lid spills all over you when you attempt to drink. Can only drink by removing the entire lid.

Trying to find out if I can buy another lid that fits this cup.

You need to lean forward to avoid it spilling down onto your clothes.

Awful. It dribbles everywhere

This is the worst lid! And given how much I paid for the mug, I figured it had to be good. Pretty sure no one from the design team actually tried to drink from it. It dribbles everywhere every single time.

Worst lid ever!

What engineer designed this?? They should be fired immediately. All this lid does is spill drink all over your face and neck. Why is the opening larger than even Kyra Sedgwicks mouth?? Has anyone in your company tried to use this lid?? How did this make it through the testing phase?? Absolute worst lid in the world!!! Ever!!!

How are lids this much of an afterthought!

Wow… Klean Kanteen! You make great insulated drink ware and then the lid designs are left to what I can imagine is a disgruntled team that enjoys wearing the contents of your fine craftsware on their shirts and laps. First the rotating pint lid that sloshed everywhere, than the “we’re not even going to try to close the opening” lid and now this. You’re losing my faith brah, you’re losing it.

Terrible lid. Does not work well.

Does not seal, coffee fills top of cap and spills everywhere. Sipping out of it is also terrible. Easily spills on face, and nose hits the other half of cap upon drinking, getting coffee or moisture on nose every time. On this site looking for a replacement cap now. This is may the worst coffee cup lid I have ever had on any cup, ever. Do NOT recommend.

Worst lid ever

This gasket around the flip lid is pointless. Just walking down the sidewalk causes coffee to spill and get anywhere. . even with the lid closed. . . fml!!! This lid might work if it's not being transported or agitated but not really. So disappointed. . . could ya'll design a lid that keeps the liquid in at least somewhat? Also the opening is too big. . . . all too often and I drink out of this and its like I got a hole in my lip.

Opening WAY too wide

Opening is way too wide. You might as well be drinking out of an open cup, which defeats the purpose of a tumbler lid. Please redesign this. I don't care if I have to buy new ones, just make something that works better! Opening needs to be about half the size.

Lid Sucks, Aesthetic is great

The lid invites spills, splashes and burnt lips. The tumbler's aesthetic is amazing but the lid sucks. It's too big of an opening. You can't drink coffee while walking or driving for fear of being burnt or staining your shirt. The same goes for water, which you'd spill.

Really liked the product this replaced

I received a lowball cup as a gift after my “old style” lowball cup flew off the roof of my car - boy did I love that cup. The new lowball cup is nice but doesn’t fit in my car’s cup holder and the lid is impossible to safely drink coffee from - with the super wide opening and loose fit I’m constantly dripping coffee on myself.

Not Functional

The seal quality is really lacking, and not just in terms of not being leak-proof, I mean just getting the lid onto the cup is a hassle and likely will pop right off in due time. The materials are fine and the mechanics of the flip lid are nice and feel very coffee shop, but this lid does not stay on.

It's not leak proof, but

It's not leak proof, but I think it is the best cup. With the shape of the lid being perfect for HOT coffee. I love stainless and I use it for just a little caffeine in a hurry. It's not for every use.

Regret the purchase

Horrible lid! Purchased on a mug. Spill all over myself every time I use it. Way too wide!

Terrible lid.

This lid is truly terrible. It came with a new design tumbler that I bought. This lid is essentially useless. Fortunately my old tumbler lids from the previous tumbler still fit on most of the new tumblers.

Need sealable lid that can ergonomically sip.

Sounds like they need to make a lid that shuts similar to Yeti's that is ergonomically correct for sipping. Too bad Yeti lids do not fit this size.

Good for what it is

I have this lid with the lowball tumbler. I got it for making oatmeal breakfast at work, with a coffee or two later in the day, and for that it works great. No press-in lid will ever be spill-proof, but it does keep your drink hot longer than not having a lid on it. The drink opening isn't the most ergonomic and I might not trust it while driving, but again, this is for use at my desk, and for that, it's great.

As another reviewer mentioned, it technically fits in the 16oz pint glass, but the lid won't snap shut around the cup's lip...and it was never claimed to do so...woulda been nice, but no points docked there.

Love love LOVE

I love this lid for the camp mug!!
I hated the camp mug lid to the point I didn’t use it out so much (only used the mug in, without the lid.)
Whilst it’s not leakproof, it definitely does the job for mostly spill proof for me (it will slow seep out if knocked over, though the camp mug is so low center of gravity it doesn’t do so without effort.)
The lip is a bit big, but I got used to it quickly.
This lid would be difficult to design better, in my opinion. I love my camp mug so I’m STOKED this lid fits. Thank you Klean Kanteen!!

Not good

Bought this for stainless cups and while it technically fits, it does not work well. Overall not really pleased with these products. Water bottles leak, lids dont fit and its all made in china. We will buy another brand moving forward.

Pretty but not a great design

Although it looks nice, this lid does not have a nice mouth feel! I can't drink while walking or it spills out the sides and down my front, I have to actually stop to drink from it, so frustrating!

Useless for travellinh

I did not see before that it isn’t leak-proof. Yes it is stated on the website but I bought in a shop and didn’t know. Such a product isn’t useful for traveling

Only so-so

I'm a big fan of most of Klean Kanteen's variety of lids but the Rise Flip Lid is only so-so. Even when closed, it doesn't prevent spillage if the mug/bottle is tipped over. And the opening is oddly shaped, such that it feels like the lip is too wide when drinking from it--annoying but not a fatal flaw.

Overall, I find I prefer to use the lid from my Camp Mug, which also happens to fit my Rise Tumbler.
